曾经的阿婆也是个坚强外向的人，她是个能自己开车外出、为家庭奔波的母亲。然而，因着生活的催逼和疫情的封锁，积极开朗的她偶尔也浮现出自杀的念头……
年过70的阿婆原是一名小贩，长期久站让她膝盖疼痛，留下后遗症。膝盖痛的折磨、孩子及孙子们的问题，加上唯一同住的儿子收入不稳定，多方缠累下阿婆身心俱疲。为了生计，儿子常不在家。膝盖疼痛让她无法再驾驶外出，而老人家最怕的是就是无人陪伴。不想麻烦孩子们的她，心事重重无处诉说。
7979吗哪食物银行的出现，挽救了这个局面。除了吗哪包，阿婆最期待的，莫过于志工的到访与陪伴，这让阿婆最为感动。他们总是毫不吝啬地付出时间，聆听阿婆诉说着自己的故事。阿婆是个感情丰富的人，常常说着说着便流下泪来。阿婆诉说着如何坚强走过以往困苦的日子，让志工们不禁也想跟着她一起掉泪。
一眨眼两年的时光过去，阿婆如今获得开导，更加珍惜自己的生命。在志工的鼓励下，她也学会了做简单的运动来缓解膝盖的折腾。值得欣慰的是，她终于有勇气接受主耶稣成为她生命的主宰。她把家中的一切偶像除去，藉着祷告和播放圣经朗诵来享受喜乐的生命。儿子也因着母亲的转变，更加信靠神。目前儿子的工作也终于稳定，收入比以往来得可观。这是大山脚福音中心7979全人关怀站第一个服务的吗哪受惠家庭，历经两年的援助，如今他们从吗哪食物银行”毕业”了，并期待吗哪包的祝福可以帮助其他像他们一样有需要的家庭。
We Have Graduated

Grandma was once a physically fit and outgoing person. She could drive and she spent her entire day taking care of the whole family. However, pressures in life and the numerous lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic had caused the once positive and cheerful Grandma to have suicidal thought occasionally.
The 70 years old Grandma was a hawker and the long hours of standing at work has left her with sore knees. Her knee pain, her children’s and grandchildren’s problems, coupled with the unstable income of her son living with her had caused Grandma to be physically and mentally exhausted. In order to make a living, her son was often not at home. She was always confined at home as the knee pain has caused her to give up driving. Like most elderly people, Grandma feared loneliness. Since she didn’t want to bother her children, the troubled Grandma has no one to turn to when she needed to pour out her misery.
Thankfully, 7979 Manna Food Bank has helped her out of her predicament. Other than the Manna food bag, what Grandma looked forward to the most was the volunteers’ visit. The volunteers were so willing to accompany her and spend their time listening to her stories. Grandma was always overwhelmed by emotion and shed some tears as she shared her story. The volunteers could not hold back their tears as they listened to Grandma recounting how she courageously went through the hardship in life.
Two years have passed in the blink of an eye and Grandma has become more enlightened and cherishes her life even more. With the encouragement of the volunteers, Grandma has learned to do some simple exercises to ease her knee pain. It was a delight to know that Grandma has finally had
the courage to accept Jesus Christ as the Lord of her life. She got rid of all the idols at home and is now enjoying a life full of joy through prayers and listening to recitation of the Scriptures. Grandma’s personal transformation has led to her son’s growing trust in God.
This was the first family to receive the food aid and care provided by the 7979 Holistic Care Station of Bukit Mertajam Gospel Center. After being a recipient of the Manna food aid for two years, this family has since “graduated” from the Manna Food Bank. They hope the Manna food bag can also be a blessing to other families in need.
